NOLRO negotiates and administers the local conditions in Ontario's Industrial, Commercial and Institutional construction collective agreements, and stands behind contractors on every labour relations question.
In 1978 the Ontario Labour Relations Act set out a legislated, province-wide structure for collective bargaining between employers and 28 unions in Ontario's ICI construction industry.
While the framework is provincial, many of those collective agreements contain local conditions specific to the region where the work is performed. Negotiating and administering those conditions is the responsibility of experienced construction association staff.
In Northwestern Ontario, that responsibility sits with NOLRO. Our staff know the local trade conditions in detail and work on behalf of contractors to apply them fairly and consistently, project after project.
How we support contractorsIndustrial, commercial and institutional construction across the North — each with its own trades, schedules and local conditions.
